Anne Hotham

Anne, the eldest daughter of Sir John Hotham X and Elizabeth Headlam, was probably born about 1519. John Hotham died in October 1524 and left 350 marks in his will towards her marriage [1]. Her mother married secondly, John Constable of Halsham, Yorkshire [2] .
Anne married about 1540, Richard Peck of Wakefield, Yorkshire, son of John Peck by his wife Joan Anne [3]. The inquisition post mortem of Sir Francis Hotham, in June 1547 states “that the said Francis was seised of a sheep pasture at Kiplingcotes; also of 1 messuage, 100 acres of land, 20 acres of meadow, and 40 acres of pasture in Lockington, in the occupation of Richard Peck his brother; and being so seised, by his charter dated July 13th, 38, H. VIII. (1546) gave to the said Richard Peck an annuity or annual rent of 40s. arising out of the said messuages and other premises, payable half-yearly at Pentecost and Martinmass for the term of 17 years.” [4]
The will of Richard Peck of Waikfeld, esquire, is dated 29 July 1561 and was proved at York on 14 April 1562 [5].
