Katherine Hotham

Katherine, daughter of Sir John Hotham IX married, as his second wife, John Anne of Frickley [1]. Their marriage took place before November 1524, when her mother-in-law, Katherine Anne (nee Preston) of Hooton Panell made her will: I bequeath to my son, John Anne, my best salte and iij pare of my best sheites, and Kateryn my doghter, his wif, my best kirtill and my best girdle, and to Cristofer Anne, my godson, xs” [2]. Her husband, John Anne. in his will dated 24th April 1544, makes his wife Katherine and his brother-in-law, William Hotham, esquire his executors [3].
Katherine was living on 26 April 1551, when Katheryn Anne, widow of John Anne, esquire of Fryckeley and Martyn Anne, esquire [her son] had a lease for 19 years by George Webster, of Hooton Panell parsonage, tithes of corn and hay and a windmill at an annual rent of £17 16s. 8d [4].
